Remembering Randy Meeks

Hey everyone! I know it's been a while but after a unplanned hiatus, WE ARE BACK! But we're back with a rather unpopular Horror opinion. '

As we all know, I love the Scream Franchise. It's my favorite, I hold all the characters near my heart especially the one and only Randy Meeks. And it was Scream 2 that gave Randy his untimely death. Now for those of you who have never seen Scream 2, shame on you but here's a nice little summary anyways.

Scream 2 is set a few years of the Woodsboro Murders with Sydney and Randy are in college. Randy is now the cool film major need, Sydney is in love again, Dewey is top cop, and Gale just released a best-selling book about murder. And after the movie premiere of Stab, a movie based on the Woodsboro murders is released, a copycat Ghostface Killer has emerged. Now Randy Meeks is a fan favorite. He's funny, he's likable, he's an adorable nerd and then he dies violently. Ready for my unpopular opinion? Randy had to die!

Yes! My horror lovers, Randy had to die. We were all on this high that all our favorite characters survived low-key Gay lovers Stu and Billy (iykyk) but that high couldn't last too long. Imagine if all the main characters survived in Scream 2, it takes the excitement out of wanting to watch Scream 3. Sydney couldn't be killed because she Sydney f****ing Prescott and she's our final girl. Dewey couldn't be killed because he's the lovable cop, he keeps Sydney together no matter how many times he got beat up, stabbed, shot, or the extreme amount of blood loss he suffered. And Gale.... well she's just Gale and we love to hate her.

And with the fact that our beloved Trio survived not just Scream 3 but also Scream 4, someone has got to go in Scream 5 (in theaters January 14, 2022). Will this opinion get me cancelled? It might but our beloved Randy was the one that had to go. If you haven't seen Scream 2 or any in the franchise make sure you watch before the release of the 5th one. Remember to stay healthy, stay happy, take care of your mental and ALWAYS ALWAYS remember that "It is always someone you know". Until next time!

Peace, Love, and Scream
